APC Dominates Bye-elections, Winning Four Seats
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results of bye-elections held on September 19 across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi, and Delta states. The All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in four constituencies.
In Gombe State, Kallamu Usman MaiJama’a won the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency by-election with 41,121 votes, while the Labour Party received 3,553 votes and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) garnered 872 votes. In Kano State, Husseini Datti of the APC won the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency by-election with 22,890 votes, with the Peoples Redemption Party receiving 270 votes and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 108 votes.
In Delta State, APC candidate Okolosi Ator won the Udu State Constituency by-election with 8,724 votes against 214 votes for the PDP. In Bauchi State, Yakubu Ali of the APC won the Disina State Constituency by-election with 5,846 votes, while the APM scored 5,225 votes and the PRP 3,701 votes.
The APM's sole victory was in the Sakwa State Constituency, where Hon. Adamu Yakubu won with 8,515 votes.
