APC's Hussaini Yusuf-Datti Wins Kano Assembly Bye-Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory in the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa State Constituency bye-election in Kano State, with its candidate, Hussaini Yusuf-Datti, receiving 22,890 votes. He defeated his nearest rival, Habib Hamisu of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), who received 270 votes, resulting in a winning margin of 22,620 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Ibrahim Tajo-Suraj, announced the results after the collation process in Dawakin Kudu. The final tally showed that Abdullahi Adamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came in third with 108 votes, while Bala Mohammed-Sani of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) received 89 votes.

Aliyu Abdullahi of the All Peoples Party (APP) garnered 53 votes, and Labour Party candidate Abubakar Yahya-Mohammed received 39 votes. The returning officer confirmed that Yusuf-Datti met all legal requirements and had the highest number of votes, thus declaring him the elected representative for the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly.

This bye-election was necessitated by the previous occupant, Shuaibu Rabiu Nagoggo, moving to the House of Representatives.
