Makinde Promises Security and Economic Reset for Nigeria

Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State and Presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), promised to reset Nigeria and improve its security architecture within four years if elected. Speaking at the APM North-Central Town Hall Meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Monday, he emphasized that his agenda includes enhancing education, the economy through data and logic, and the socio-political environment.

Makinde stated that he would lead a transitional government of national unity starting from May 29, 2027, aimed at sustainable development. He criticized the Federal Government's economic policies, noting that despite increased allocations to states, it has not alleviated hunger among Nigerians.

Makinde asserted that the ultimate decision in the election rests with the Nigerian people, who should not yield their political choices to wealthy politicians. Lawal Daura, the APM vice-presidential candidate, echoed the need for tangible improvements in Nigerians' lives, contrasting their approach with previous leadership.
