Seyi Makinde Promises Nigeria Reset in Four Years

Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), stated that Nigeria can be reset within four years if he is elected president in 2027. Speaking at the APM North-central Town Hall Meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, he emphasized a new security architecture as part of his agenda.

Makinde outlined four critical areas for the reset: security, education, economy, and socio-political environment. He referenced historical precedents, noting that significant changes can occur in a short time.

Makinde criticized the current federal government's economic policies, labeling them as “voodoo economics,” and highlighted ongoing insecurity issues, particularly in North Central Nigeria. He also discussed his administration's efforts in Oyo State to reduce dependency on federal allocations from over 80% to 65% by 2022.

The National Chairman of APM, Yusuf Dantalle, expressed confidence in the party's growing acceptance ahead of the 2027 elections.
