Okpebholo Defends 4,000 Special Assistants Appointment

On Monday, Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo addressed the appointment of 4,000 Special Assistants, stating it is not an issue and reaffirming his administration's commitment to grassroots governance. This statement was made during a meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) members from all 18 local government areas at the Government House in Benin City.

Okpebholo expressed gratitude to party members for their support and underscored the importance of unity within the APC. He stated that development would flow from the state level down to the wards.

APC state chairman Jarret Tenebe praised Okpebholo for strengthening the party since taking office, noting the increased activity and stability under his administration. Tenebe revealed that the governor approved the appointment of 25 Special Assistants in each of the 192 wards, and the meeting aimed to communicate the selection criteria for these appointments.

The APC recorded 2,158,600 votes across Edo State, reflecting the party's growing strength.
