Arco and NLNG Introduce Nigeria's First Mobile Drone Ground Control System in Rivers State

Arco Worldwide Services and Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) have launched Nigeria's pioneering Mobile Drone Operations Command Center (MDOC) in Port Harcourt. The MDOC, a collaborative effort, signifies a significant milestone in Nigeria's adoption of advanced aerospace technology to safeguard critical infrastructure.

The system, developed by Arco, features a custom Mercedes Benz Sprinter retrofitted with climate control and a command hub for drone operations. NLNG's Chief Operating Officer, Ekeind Ohiwerei, praised the project as a testament to NLNG's commitment to Nigerian content and highlighted the MDOC's role in infrastructure monitoring and addressing security challenges.

The MDOC includes the Sky Whale VTOL drone system with a three-hour endurance and 60km operational range, powered by green energy solutions like solar panels. This innovation will enhance NLNG's ability to detect and report pipeline encroachments and vandalism in real-time.
