Aregbesola’s Loyalists Raise Alarm Over Alleged Assassination Plot

Aregbesola's loyalists have raised concerns about an alleged assassination plot against the former Minister of Interior. The Omoluabi Progressives group, in a statement signed by spokesperson Oluwaseun Abosede, claimed that Aregbesola has been targeted since accepting a position in the opposition coalition led by President Bola Tinubu.

Aregbesola, a staunch loyalist of Tinubu, has faced criticism and accusations of betrayal from many politicians in Osun APC. The group alleged a coordinated effort to eliminate Aregbesola due to his political independence, citing threatening remarks and actions.

They also accused security operatives of physical repression, pointing to an incident at an ADC rally in Sagamu, Ogun State. The group warned of the potential for violence and called on security agencies to intervene.

The Osun State Police Command, however, stated that they were unaware of any planned attack on the former minister.
