Youth Groups Back Amupitan, Criticize UK Protesters

The youth groups issued a joint statement, signed by Anderson Achilik and Mondai in Abuja, labeling the protests as premature and based on misinformation that does not reflect the broader national interest. They criticized the allegations of partisanship against Prof.

Amupitan, asserting that such claims are unsubstantiated and urge Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, to allow the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman to carry out his constitutional responsibilities without undue political pressure. The statement emphasized the importance of adhering to due process and the rule of law, particularly in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections, and called for stakeholders to support INEC in strengthening Nigeria's democratic processes.
