This event took place on a Monday, despite the Federal Government's plans to officially reintroduce the former anthem on May 29, 2024, following the signing of the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law. The new law will restore Nigeria's previous national anthem, which was adopted in 1978, replacing the anthem that has been in use since the country's independence in 1960.
