Nigerian Army Probes Officer's Death in Domestic Fire Incident

The officer was evacuated to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital for medical care but passed away on October 6, 2025.

The Army expressed condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased officer. The investigation aims to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire incident, with the late officer's wife, Retyit Haruna, denying allegations of intentionally setting her husband ablaze amid claims of enduring domestic violence.
