Arne Slot has departed from his role as manager of Liverpool, effective immediately, following a review at the end of the season. The club's official statement acknowledged the 47-year-old's contributions, including leading the team to its 20th English league title in his first season.

However, the second season was disappointing, with injuries impacting the team's performance, resulting in a fifth-place finish. Liverpool emphasized that Slot's departure was a tough decision, particularly after navigating a challenging period following the loss of forward Diogo Jota.

The club is now focusing on Andoni Iraola, the current manager of Bournemouth, as their top choice for the managerial position. Iraola has successfully guided Bournemouth to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League, securing European football for the first time in the club's history.

Liverpool believes Iraola's style of intense attacking football aligns with the direction they wish to pursue.
