Ekitike Injury Concerns Arise After Liverpool Clash

Arne Slot, the coach of Paris Saint-Germain, voiced fears that striker Hugo Ekitike may have suffered a serious injury during the UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool on Tuesday. Ekitike went down off the ball after 30 minutes, clutching his ankle and leaving the pitch in visible distress.

PSG lost the match 2-0, resulting in a 4-0 aggregate defeat. The 22-year-old Ekitike, who joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer, has had a notable first season at Anfield, scoring 17 goals in 45 appearances across competitions.

His injury is a significant blow to his hopes of making the France squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Teammate Ibrahima Konaté acknowledged the worrying situation.
