Arokodare Honors Dolberg with Shirt Tribute After Scoring
Ajax striker Tolu Arokodare honored his injured teammate Kasper Dolberg by showing Dolberg's shirt to supporters after scoring in Ajax's 1-1 draw against NEC at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam. Arokodare stated that the idea to make this gesture came from Nigeria international Victor Osimhen, who plays for Turkish champions Galatasaray.
Dolberg had suffered a knee injury during training with the Denmark national team and underwent successful surgery on his right knee in Copenhagen. He will now begin his rehabilitation.
Arokodare expressed gratitude to Osimhen for the suggestion, stating, “Osimhen told me, ‘You should do something like this,’ and I did.” This tribute follows a similar gesture made by Osimhen, who displayed Mauro Icardi’s shirt to Galatasaray supporters after Icardi suffered an injury, showcasing the camaraderie among players even when sidelined by injuries.
