Arsenal Triumphs 4-0 Over Wigan in FA Cup Match

Arsenal secured a decisive 4-0 victory over Wigan in the FA Cup, advancing to the fifth round for the first time in six years. The Premier League leaders dominated the struggling Wigan side, opening the scoring in the 11th minute through Eberechi Eze, who split the defense with a pass to Noni Madueke, who finished confidently past Sam Tickell.

Eze provided another excellent assist seven minutes later, setting up Gabriel Martinelli for the second goal. Arsenal extended their lead when Jack Hunt scored an unfortunate own goal while attempting to clear a ball from Bukayo Saka.

Saka, who played in an unfamiliar central midfield role due to Riccardo Calafiori's injury, partnered with Christian Norgaard. Gabriel Jesus scored Arsenal's fourth goal with a clever chip over the onrushing Tickell.

Arsenal became the first Premier League side to score four goals within the first half hour of an FA Cup match. The last time Arsenal reached the fifth round was in 2020 during Mikel Arteta's first season in charge.
