Terror Attacks Surge in Oyo State Amid Rising Insecurity

In Oyo State, a recent attack by terrorists resulted in the kidnapping of 48 individuals, including school principal Mr. Rachael Alamu, two vice principals, and three teachers.

The assailants, dressed in military uniforms, stormed the area on motorcycles and in cars, causing panic among residents. The police response was delayed, arriving three hours after the attack, allowing the terrorists to escape.

This incident is part of a broader trend of escalating violence in the South-west, with communities experiencing frequent kidnappings and attacks reminiscent of the insecurity plaguing northern Nigeria. Notably, a disturbing video surfaced showing the beheading of teacher Michael Oyedokun, further heightening fear and anger among affected families.

The situation has prompted calls for urgent rescue efforts and increased security measures, as residents live in constant fear of criminal elements exploiting remote areas for heinous activities, including kidnapping for ransom.
