ADC Candidate Ashiru Condemns Violence Against Members

Isa Mohammed Ashiru, the 2027 gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State, condemned the repeated attacks, harassment, and intimidation of ADC members and supporters. This condemnation followed incidents where ADC members were attacked while welcoming him back from a two-week Lesser Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

Ashiru described these attacks as unacceptable and a threat to democratic participation. He warned the Kaduna State Government and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) about the violence instigated by political thugs, who were reportedly armed and used vehicles branded with “Renewed Hope.” Ashiru emphasized the need for political differences to be resolved peacefully and called on Governor Uba Sani to ensure that political activities can occur without fear.

He urged security agencies to investigate the attacks and bring the perpetrators to justice. Ashiru reassured ADC members of the party's commitment to a peaceful, issue-based campaign and the defense of their democratic rights.
