ASUU Suspends Warning Strike Amidst Government's Delayed Response

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) reacts to the delayed intervention of Bola Tinubu's government to avert a strike action, suspending its proposed warning strike. ASUU President, Professor Chris Piwuna, criticizes the government for failing to act promptly on the union's demands.

The union had given a three-week notice to address grievances before the proposed strike. ASUU maintains its stance despite the government's silence, threatening industrial action if urgent steps are not taken.

The decision was reached during ASUU's National Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
