FG Appeals to ASUU to Halt Strike Amid Promises of Action on Demands

The Federal Government urged the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to halt its planned nationwide strike, promising concrete actions to address the union's long-standing demands. Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, disclosed that President Bola Tinubu directed relevant agencies to prevent disruptions in academic activities.

The government is working diligently to provide robust solutions to ASUU's concerns, including the implementation of the 2009 Agreement and sustainable university funding. ASUU had issued a warning strike ultimatum, demanding the resolution of issues like alleged victimization at institutions such as Lagos State University (LASU).
