ASUU Threatens Full Strike Over Government's Failure to Meet Demands

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is threatening a full strike due to the government's handling of industrial disputes and failure to conclude renegotiations of the 2009 FGN-ASUU agreement. ASUU's demands include a new salary structure to replace the existing one, with a two-week warning strike planned for October 13.

The union has given a one-month ultimatum for the government to resolve the issues. Professor Biodun Olaniran and other ASUU representatives expressed frustration over the lack of progress in negotiations.
