Federal Government Appeals to ASUU to Avert Strike, Promises to Address Demands

The Federal Government of Nigeria has urged the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to refrain from their planned strike, assuring to address their demands. The Minister of Education, Dr.

Maruf Olatunji Alausa, made the plea in Abuja during ongoing negotiations. Mahmud Yayal Ahm, representing the Federal Government, disclosed the reconstitution of a negotiation committee to fast-track talks with academic and non-academic unions in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

President Bola Tinubu emphasized the government's commitment to preventing disruptions in tertiary institutions.
