Atalanta Targets Zaidu Sanusi for Summer Transfer

Atalanta is reportedly eyeing a summer move for Nigerian left-back Zaidu Sanusi as the Italian club prepares for a significant squad overhaul after a challenging 2025-26 season, where they missed the top four in Serie A and failed to win any trophies. The future of current manager Raffaele Palladino is uncertain, with Maurizio Sarri linked as a potential replacement.

Sanusi, who has extensive experience in top-level European football, joined Porto in 2020 after stints with Gil Vicente and Santa Clara. He played a crucial role in Porto's Portuguese league title win in the 2021-22 season, scoring a decisive goal against Benfica.

Although he faced setbacks due to an ACL injury, he contributed to Porto's recent league title. Transfermarkt values Sanusi at around €3 million, but Porto is reportedly seeking approximately €7 million for his signature.

His contract with Porto runs until the end of the 2026-27 season, and the club is open to extending the deal but may consider selling him rather than risk losing him for nothing.
