ATCIS Nigeria Rejects 100% Hike in Passport Fee

The Association of Telephone, Cable TV, and Internet Subscribers in Nigeria (ATCIS Nigeria) opposed the recent 100% hike in the international passport fee, criticizing the government's decision as unjustifiable. The fee increase, effective from September 1, 2025, was met with strong disapproval from ATCIS Nigeria's National President, Sina Bilesanmi.

The association argued that the hike would exacerbate economic hardships faced by Nigerian citizens. Bilesanmi called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and reverse the decision, expressing concerns about the impact on ordinary Nigerians and questioning the government's rationale for the sudden fee adjustment.
