Atiku Abubakar Delays Formal Entry into ADC Amid Talks of Goodluck Jonathan’s Possible 2027 Run

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has delayed his formal entry into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) amid rumors of former President Goodluck Jonathan potentially running for the 2027 presidential election on the same platform. Atiku, who recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was expected to receive his ADC membership card on August 6 in Adamawa State but the event was postponed without explanation.

A source revealed ongoing discussions between the party and Jonathan, with the ADC Chairman in Adamawa State confirming the postponement. While Atiku is waiting for a specific date to defect to the ADC, a senior party member disclosed that talks with Jonathan have been positive, hinting at a possible collaboration.

The ADC spokesperson emphasized the party's openness to all Nigerians willing to rescue the country, but it remains uncertain whether Jonathan would be granted an automatic presidential ticket.
