Presidency Dismisses Atiku Abubakar's 2027 Ambition

The Presidency has dismissed the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar, the flag bearer of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as a joke. Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, the Political Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, made this statement while addressing members of the Jigawa State Academics Forum.

He urged Atiku to concentrate on his ongoing court cases, asserting that his political aspirations stem from desperation. Masari remarked, “Even Atiku himself knows he is just joking and kidding.” He characterized the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Nigeria's dominant political party and framed the upcoming 2027 election as a choice between continuing the Tinubu administration's programs or reverting to opposition.

He highlighted the administration's priorities, including infrastructure development, economic diversification, security, and poverty reduction. Additionally, Masari praised the Jigawa State Academics Forum for endorsing President Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi for another term, noting the Federal Government's commitment to education and the stabilization of the university academic calendar.
