Atiku Denies Negotiation for VP Ticket with Makinde

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has publicly rejected any negotiations with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde concerning the vice-presidential ticket for the upcoming elections. This denial follows claims made by Peter Ayodele Fayose, a former governor, who alleged that Makinde agreed to run as Atiku's vice-presidential candidate and that a 10 billion naira contribution was promised.

Atiku's Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, described these claims as "malicious fabrications" and "laughable scripts," asserting that Atiku has never engaged in any imaginary horse-trading or clandestine meetings regarding the ticket. Shaibu characterized Fayose's statements as a shameless concoction aimed at distracting the public and misleading them.

He emphasized that Atiku Abubakar's political engagements are based on broad principles rather than secretive negotiations or transactions, urging the public to disregard the unfounded allegations.
