Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has refuted rumors suggesting an agreement with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to serve as his running mate in the 2027 presidential election. Atiku described the viral claim as false and misleading, attributing it to Peter Ayodele Fayose.

He emphasized that there was no truth to the speculation circulating on social media. Atiku clarified that there were no negotiations for the vice presidential ticket, no discussions about a $10 billion contribution, no zoning manipulation, and no clandestine Dubai meetings.

He criticized the fabrication as a desperate attempt to drag him into political gossip and emphasized his commitment to principled national engagement. Atiku highlighted that he does not engage in political secrecy, bribery, or backroom theatrics, urging the public to disregard such baseless narratives.
