Tinubu's Aide Bwala Critiques Opposition Ahead of 2027

On Thursday, Amaechi Bwala, a special adviser to President Bola Tinubu, publicly condemned the opposition parties in Nigeria as the country approaches the 2027 elections. Speaking on Channels Television, Bwala argued that the opposition, led by figures such as Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, has failed to provide credible alternatives for Nigerians.

He criticized the recent political realignments among opposition figures, accusing them of contradicting their previous positions. Bwala specifically targeted Obi's political movement, describing the former Anambra governor as a "nomad politician" who has left the Progress Grand Alliance (APGA).

He asserted that Obi's movement appears stronger online than in actual political structures on the ground. Furthermore, Bwala characterized Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President, as facing challenges due to the passage of time in active politics, suggesting that both opposition leaders are unlikely to succeed in the upcoming presidential contest.
