Atiku and Peter Obi Criticize Tinubu for Reinstating Fubara as Rivers Governor

Nigerian opposition leaders Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi criticized President Bola Tinubu for restoring Siminalayi Fubara as Rivers Governor. Tinubu had suspended Fubara during a state emergency in Rivers due to political crisis.

Fubara's deputy and a state house assembly member were also suspended. Vice Admiral Ibas (rtd) was appointed as the sole administrator during the six-month emergency period.

However, on September 17, President Tinubu reinstated the suspended officials, citing the need to end the crisis that had paralyzed governance in Rivers state.
