Atiku Abubakar Addresses ADC Leadership Crisis Allegations

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, reacted to the ongoing leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), claiming that external influences are attempting to destabilize the opposition party to gain political momentum. During an interview with DW Hausa, Atiku linked the internal disputes within the ADC to outside interference, suggesting that this crisis is engineered to weaken the party.

He did not specifically name individuals but appeared to refer to Nafiu Bala Gomb, who has laid claim to the party's leadership amid the ongoing disputes. Atiku further noted that the leadership crisis escalated following the Independent National Electoral Commission's suspension of recognition for the faction led by David Mark and Nafiu Bala Gomb, pending a court decision on the matter.

Additionally, Atiku expressed concern over the worsening security situation in Nigeria, particularly in the northern regions, attributing it to rising insecurity driven by youth unemployment and failures in the education system, while accusing the government of mismanaging public funds.
