ADC Dismisses Suspension of Atiku and Lawal as Invalid

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reacted to the suspension of former Vice President Atiku and former Secretary Lawal from the party, declaring the move invalid and lacking authority. The party's public secretary, Sadiq Ibrahim Abdullahi, emphasized that the suspension carries no weight within the party.

This announcement follows a press conference held by Raji Zumo, the faction chairman of the ADC in Adamawa State, who had announced the suspension. The ADC is grappling with internal disputes regarding its leadership structure, which has led to the emergence of separate factions, including one led by Nafiu Bala and Gomb Kingslei Ogga, who reportedly expelled members during the party's national convention.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has earlier recognized the party's leadership structure amid the ongoing crisis.
