Atiku Abubakar Returns to Unveil Amaechi as Running Mate

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, returned to Nigeria on Saturday night at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport after a brief business trip abroad. His return is timed for the official unveiling of Rotimi Amaechi as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The political party is preparing to submit nomination forms to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with expectations to commence this process on Monday. Atiku's media aide, Abdulrashe Shehu, confirmed that there is no crisis regarding the vice presidential slot and assured the public that the announcement process will proceed smoothly.

The formal unveiling of Amaechi is scheduled for June 21, and Atiku's return is seen as a strategic move to garner support for his candidacy.
