Atiku Abubakar Critiques Tinubu's Security Record

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed concern over reports indicating that 5,091 Nigerians were killed in violent incidents across Nigeria within three months. He described this situation as indicative of President Bola Tinubu's administration, stating that it was "soaked in blood." In a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku highlighted that these figures reflect the government's failure to protect lives and property.

He attributed the worsening insecurity to fiscal indiscipline and poor budget implementation by the Tinubu administration. While welcoming the federal government's announcement to increase military salaries, Atiku noted that improved pay alone would not suffice to restore morale among troops.

He stressed the need for adequate equipment, operational funding, and proper welfare for soldiers' families, arguing that the government must prioritize defense spending and eliminate wasteful expenditures to enhance national security.
