Atletico Madrid's CEO Slams Barcelona Over Alvarez Transfer

Gil Marin, the CEO of Atletico Madrid, publicly criticized Barcelona, labeling their approach to Julian Alvarez as "disrespectful." The comments came amid speculation that Alvarez would join Barcelona this summer, with the Argentine forward being a target for several elite European clubs, including Arsenal, PSG, and Real Madrid. Reports indicate that Barcelona made a substantial offer of €150 million for Alvarez, which he reportedly rejected.

Marin expressed concern over Alvarez's attitude following Argentina's World Cup triumph, suggesting that his performance could lead to a forced transfer. He clarified that Atletico Madrid does not wish to sell Alvarez, stating that the club has communicated this clearly.

Marin condemned Barcelona's approach, asserting that they cannot simply assume they can take players from Atletico Madrid. Alvarez has had an impressive season with Manchester City, scoring 49 goals and providing 17 assists.

His current contract reportedly includes a release clause of €500 million, reinforcing Atletico's determination to keep him at the Wanda Metropolitano.
