Atletico Madrid Signs Ademola Lookman from Atalanta for €30.3 Million

Atletico Madrid has completed the signing of Ademola Lookman from Atalanta for a reported fee of €30.3 million to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the business end of the season. Lookman, born in London, has impressed during his time in Spain, scoring 55 goals and providing 27 assists.

He joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022 and made history for the club in 2024 by scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, securing Atalanta's first-ever European trophy. Lookman's standout performances earned him the African Footballer of the Year award.

Despite representing England at youth levels, Lookman has committed his international future to Nigeria and made his senior debut for the Super Eagles in 2022. The contract signed by Lookman with Atletico Madrid runs until June 2030.

Lookman began his professional career at Charlton Athletic before moving to Everton in 2017 and subsequently having successful loan spells at RB Leipzig, Fulham, and Leicester City before his move to Italy. He bid an emotional farewell to Atalanta in a farewell message, acknowledging the support he received during his time at the club.
