Former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Innocent Ogbeh, passed away at the age of 78, leaving the nation in mourning. Born on July 28, 1947, in Otukpo, Benue State, Ogbeh had an impressive educational background, obtaining degrees in French literature from Ahmadu Bello University and the University of Toulouse, France.

He served as a teaching assistant and later as the Head of the Department of Languages at Murtala College of Arts, Science, and Technology. Ogbeh ventured into politics, becoming the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and later serving as a Federal Minister under President Shehu Shagari.

He also held the position of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party. Ogbeh was known for his contributions to agriculture, with ventures in rice milling, cashew plantations, and poultry farming.

His passing comes shortly after the death of former President Buhari and Senator Ibrahim Musa.
