Audu Ogbeh was a patriot and principled politician, says Atiku

Atiku Abubakar expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Audu Ogbeh, former Minister of Agriculture, describing him as a patriot and principled politician. In a statement released on Saturday, Atiku praised Ogbeh as a quintessential gentleman, reliable political ally, and impactful chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party from 2001 to 2005.

He highlighted Ogbeh's contributions to agriculture and his reputation as a farmer-politician and family man. Atiku also lauded Ogbeh as a detribalised politician who embodied intellectualism and pragmatism while defending liberal democracy.

The former Vice President extended his condolences to Ogbeh's family, friends, and the people of Benue, noting that Ogbeh's death is a great loss to Nigeria. Ogbeh passed away at the age of 78 at his residence in Abuja.
