Australia Implements New Visa Endorsement for Travelers

Australia's Department of Home Affairs has mandated that citizens seeking to participate in Work and Holiday visa programmes across 12 partner countries must first obtain a government-issued letter of support before submitting their visa applications. This letter serves as an official endorsement and is provided at no cost.

Eligible Australians must submit their full name, date of birth, residential address, and the intended destination country, along with supporting documents such as a valid Australian passport and proof of educational qualifications. Only Australian citizens who have not previously participated in a partner country's Work and Holiday programme can apply.

The response to requests is expected within approximately 10 working days. The letter does not guarantee visa approval, which remains at the discretion of the partner country's authorities.

Eligibility criteria vary by country, with most requiring tertiary qualifications or equivalent educational achievements.
