AAAU Partners with Embry-Riddle to Boost Aviation Training

On October 14, 2026, the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU) in Abuja signed a strategic partnership agreement with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from the United States. This agreement aims to expand aviation education, professional training, and workforce development across Africa.
Under this partnership, AAAU students will have the opportunity to enroll in selected courses through Embry-Riddle Worldwide starting in the 2027/2028 academic session, enabling them to earn certificates from Embry-Riddle alongside their AAAU degrees. The two institutions will also recognize each other’s academic credits, enhancing flexibility in students' studies and improving the international recognition of their qualifications.
Dr Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, acting vice-chancellor of AAAU, described the agreement as a significant milestone for advancing aviation education in Africa. Dr John Watret, chancellor of Embry-Riddle Worldwide, affirmed the institution's commitment to supporting high standards in aviation education.
The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange and the adoption of international best practices.
