Tinubu's Reforms Boost Lagos State's Revenue Growth

Ayodele Subair, the Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, attributed the growth in Lagos State's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to the bold reforms initiated by President Bola Tinubu during his tenure as governor. Subair made these remarks at a gala night organized to close the 159th meeting of the Joint Revenue Board (JRB) held in Lagos, where tax administrators and revenue stakeholders from across the country gathered for four days to discuss strengthening the tax system and improving compliance.

He praised the visible investments in transport and urban renewal projects under the current administration led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, highlighting significant investments in education, health, housing, and a multimodal transport system. Subair noted that Lagos residents are contributing to the state's development through tax payments, which he emphasized should correlate with the benefits they receive.

He expressed confidence that the momentum of success in Lagos would continue under the current administration.
