Baba Ijesha Reflects on Bond with Mr Latin Amid Legal Issues

Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, spoke about his relationship with Bolaji Amusan, the President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, known as Mr Latin. In an interview with Kasnaty TV, Baba Ijesha described Mr Latin as a brother and acknowledged their shared roots from Oṣùn state.

He expressed no intention of holding a grudge against Mr Latin, despite their differences, and recalled Mr Latin's support, including facilitating his first trip to London. Baba Ijesha mentioned that he had attempted to stay at Mr Latin's residence after his release from prison but was unable to do so, attributing this to Mr Latin's avoidance of confrontations.

Baba Ijesha's comments follow his legal issues, which began in June 2021 when he was arraigned in Lagos on multiple charges, including sexual assault. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison in July 2022, with the sentences running concurrently.

Mr Latin publicly condemned Baba Ijesha's actions during the trial.
