Pastor Olabanjo Felix Leaves Christianity for Isese Practice

Olabanjo Felix, a pastor based in Ondo State and founder of the Image of God Evangelical and Prophetic Ministries in Ibaka, has publicly renounced Christianity to adopt Isese practice, an indigenous Yoruba spiritual tradition. In a viral video released on social media, he declared his new identity as "Ifawamiri Aworanolodumare, Babalawo of Ifá," expressing gratitude to his spiritual mentor, Oluṣẹgun Latunji Aifuwapẹ, and his spiritual sons.

Felix criticized foreign religions as deceitful, claiming that indigenous Yoruba worship is superior. He did not clarify the future of his church or congregation.

His announcement has ignited widespread debate on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, with opinions split between support for his return to indigenous roots and criticism of his previous Christian ministry. Some users speculated about financial motives behind his transition, while others called for prayers and restraint, likening his situation to that of the prodigal son.
