Ibom Air Flight Forced to Return to Abuja Due to Bad Lagos Weather

An Ibom Air flight traveling from Abuja to Lagos had to return to the nation's capital due to adverse weather conditions in Lagos. Inibeh Effiong, a human rights lawyer and passenger on the flight, described the poor weather conditions like heavy rainfall, fog, and dust common during the harmattan season, making landing unsafe.

The aircraft hovered over Lagos for 30 minutes before the captain decided to change course and return to Abuja, resulting in a two-hour delay. Ibom Air has not issued an official statement on the incident at the time of filing the report.
