Nigerian Airline Ibom Air to Launch International Flights in 2026, Boosting Aviation Sector

Ibom Air, a state-owned Nigerian airline, is gearing up to launch international flights in April 2026, following an inspection of facilities at Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo by the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel. The move is expected to enhance Nigeria's aviation sector by providing more travel options and competitive fares.

Ibom Air will join other Nigerian carriers like Air Peace in operating international services. The inspection revealed that Akwa Ibom State is ahead of schedule in preparing for international operations, with key infrastructure upgrades and maintenance in progress.

Governor Emmanuel expressed gratitude for the support and commitment to utilizing aviation infrastructure for economic growth.
