Peter Obi Critiques Leadership for Nigeria's Hardship

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, addressed the issue of Nigeria's ongoing struggles despite its abundant natural resources. Speaking on Thursday in Abuja while receiving members of the Association of Skill Vocational Artisan Nigeria (ASVAN), Obi lamented that bad leadership and poor choices have kept Nigerians in hardship.

He argued that Nigeria has the potential to be one of the strongest economies in the world but is hindered by corrupt practices and mismanagement of public funds. Obi emphasized that corruption remains one of the biggest obstacles to economic progress, diverting funds meant for public service.

He called for significant investments in education and healthcare to lift millions out of poverty. Furthermore, he noted the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as the backbone of the economy and urged the government to create an enabling environment for businesses.

Obi also encouraged citizens to actively participate in the democratic process to hold leaders accountable.
