Kwara Traditional Ruler Freed by Bandits After 25 Days in Captivity

Oba Kamilu Salami Ojibara, a traditional ruler in Kwara State, was freed by bandits after 25 days in captivity. His family and community members paid ransom twice to secure his release.

The Kwara State government and security agencies were accused of failing to assist in the monarch's release. Oba Kamilu was immediately taken to a hospital in Ilorin for medical attention.

The kidnapping incident highlights the worsening insecurity in parts of Kwara State.
