Bandits Kill 32 Farmers in Niger State Attack

On Saturday, February 14, 2026, bandits launched a brutal attack on communities in Niger State, resulting in the deaths of no fewer than 32 farmers and the abduction of many residents. The first assault occurred in Tugan Makeri, located in the Konkoso ward, around 6:00 AM, where six people were killed, and several houses, including a police outpost, were set ablaze.

The attack reportedly involved approximately 200 assailants and lasted until 10:00 AM, affecting the community located 200 kilometers from the Nigerian Air Force base in New Bussa. Hassan Abdullahi, a resident, noted that the exact number of casualties in Pissa community remains unconfirmed.

Wasiu Abiodun, a spokesperson, confirmed the attack on Tugan Makeri village and reported that the assailants later advanced toward Konsoko, although details of the incident remain unclear. A joint security team has been mobilized to the scene to assess the situation and rescue the victims.
