Banks Urged to Enhance Financial Inclusion and MSME Support

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and the Association of Corporate Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB) have urged banks to deepen financial inclusion, promote women’s empowerment, and support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through targeted policies. This call was made during a courtesy visit by ACAMB to Dr Dele Alabi, who was inaugurated as the 24th President and Chairman of Council of CIBN on May 16, 2026.
Alabi unveiled his “IMPACT” vision, which focuses on inclusion, membership growth, professionalism, accountability, skills development, and technology. He emphasized that financial inclusion and women’s empowerment are priorities, as women are often primary financial managers in families.
Alabi expressed the institute's willingness to collaborate with the Central Bank of Nigeria and ACAMB on public awareness initiatives. ACAMB President Jide Sipe highlighted the importance of expanding access to financial services for economic growth and announced plans to celebrate ACAMB’s 30th anniversary.
