Baobab Microfinance Bank Supports 500 Schoolgirls in Ilorin

Baobab Microfinance Bank Nigeria has concluded the first phase of its menstrual hygiene awareness project in Ilorin, Kwara State, reaffirming its commitment to improving community impact through social interventions. The initiative involved the distribution of 500 reusable sanitary pads to carefully selected beneficiaries among schoolgirls.

Joi Micheal Oti, Chief Business Development Officer at Baobab Microfinance Bank Nigeria, stated that every girl deserves the opportunity to learn without interruptions due to menstrual health, emphasizing that access to menstrual products is a basic right. This initiative marks the beginning of a broader commitment to address period poverty across Nigeria, with plans to scale the initiative to multiple states to ensure no girl's education is disrupted by a lack of access to menstrual products.

Barisi Samuel Ad, Executive Project Manager at Baobab Microfinance Bank Nigeria, reinforced the significance of the project, highlighting that it goes beyond distributing sanitary pads to delivering dignity and confidence to girls.
