Barcelona Signs Gordon from Newcastle for £80 Million

Barcelona has secured the signing of winger Gordon from Newcastle United on a five-year contract, reported to be worth £80 million. This move comes after Barcelona, the recent La Liga champions, outpaced Bayern Munich in the race for the player.

Gordon, a 25-year-old graduate of the Everton academy, joined Newcastle in January 2023 and had a notable season, contributing 20 goals with 17 goals and 3 assists. Despite Newcastle's lackluster performance, finishing in the bottom half of the Premier League in the 2025-26 season, Gordon's individual performance stood out, including a record of 10 goals in three matches against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

He will officially join Barcelona in July and is expected to represent England in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
