Barcelona Signs Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for €80M

FC Barcelona has officially unveiled the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for a fee that could rise to €80 million (approximately €93 million). The 25-year-old left winger, who netted 17 goals for Newcastle during the season and was the club's top scorer, has signed a contract for the next five seasons, lasting until June 30, 2031.

This move comes as Barcelona looks to strengthen its attack following the potential departure of veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract is ending. Additionally, there are considerations for a loan spell for Marcus Rashford from Manchester United.

Barcelona aims to enhance its squad further, with links to Atlético Madrid striker Julian Alvarez. The club is also looking to manage its finances under La Liga's strict financial fair play rules, especially after Lewandowski's departure.

Gordon's transfer marks Newcastle's second-largest sale in history, following the £125 million transfer of Alexander Isak to Liverpool last summer.
